I survived what was probably the busiest week at my law practice, with people coming in one after another, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday. I filed more bankruptcy cases last week than I usually do in two to three months.

People were rushing to file; the Bankrupcy Court in Portland usually has 70 new cases a day. Friday, there were over *2000* filed. In a normal year, the case numbers start at 30000 and usually end at 43000 or 44000. This year, there are case numbers over 49000, and it's likely we'll see case numbers over 50000.

Amy and I have been married for two months. Funny, it really doesn't feel any different, but I'm more comfortable referring to her as "my wife" and to us as being married.

I managed to get all the work done through a bad cold - I felt sick from Tuesday of last week until Monday.

We're putting the final touches on the National Lawyers Guild convention for next weekend - we're having approximately 400 lawyers and law students coming to Portland from around the country for seminars and networking. I found them informative and fun in the two I went to - 2003 in Minneapolis and last year in Birmingham. I hope we'll put on a good show for everyone this year....
