varropdx Franklin Graham, the George W. Bush of religion, preaches that Hurricane Katrina should cleanse New Orleans from "satanic worship" and "sexual perversion".
I'm a hurricane geek, and one of the most telling things about Hurricane Katrina is that it largely spared the French Quarter, Ground Zero for New Orleans-style debauchery. Indeed, some bars stayed open immediately after the hurricane, even without water and power.
One of the ways we can help New Orleans recover is by coming back to it (hopefully) for Mardi Gras 2006. The return of the tourist industry is what will save New Orleans, not a revival of spiritual bunkum like Graham and his fellow Christian Jihadist Jerry Falwell want.
