Fruition...

The very first cases I took on in my own practice are coming to a conclusion.

Two bankruptcy cases I filed in August were discharged today, to the great appreciation of my clients. (Three months is about right for a no-asset Chapter 7.) Another personal injury case looks like it's settling as well; we aren't very far apart as to the settlement amount.

I feel strangely accomplished today; I've started to attack some of the cases I put on the back burner because of various filings and deadlines last week. (Two new bankruptcy cases filed, an answer in another case, and a client's crisis averted.)

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving; Amy and I are going down to one of her old art teacher's for a potluck dinner they have every year. He has a huge barn (it may have been an old railroad depot; it says "Wilsonville" on it), where he has students past and present. Amy and other artists show their works to the guests, and the host shows MST-able shorts (lots of promotional films and commercials from the 50s and 60s), and the classic short film De Düva (imagine a Bergman parody in pig-Swedish....).

Congratulations on your cases - it appears you're doing pretty well in that area. And yeah; I've found that the more you accomplish, the more you tend to accomplish. I think they call that 'momentum.' :)

TC - I got three inquiries about filing for bankruptcy over the weekend and Monday - one of them will be coming in on Monday for an appointment.

The judge officially signed the discharge orders for the first two bankruptcy cases I filed.....both clients were extremely appreciative.
