9 am - Hearing for client's Chapter 13 bankruptcy case - the case is a mess; it'll be a miracle if I can get her case to be confirmed. Judge gives us until Sept. 30 to file long-overdue tax returns and sets a hearing for a challenge by a creditor for mid-September. Case is still alive, and I've stressed the importance of cooperation to my client.
11 am - Client comes in to sign an urgent paper - filed at the court around noon.
4 pm - 341 hearing for another client - hearing goes fast, client happy.
8 pm - Finally have my client sign a settlement agreement in the Case From Hell - he gets his bankruptcy discharge after much litigation.
