Read this before you don't sign.

There have been a lot of people in downtown Portland holding up yellow signs saying "Read *before* you sign," referring to initiative petitions.

It seems odd that someone would pay people to hold signs urging people to do their civic duty, and examine ballot measures before signing in favor of putting them on the ballot. What's even stranger is that there's no contact information on the signs saying who's sponsoring them.
