Happy Birthday Natte!
Oct. 30th, 2002 09:11 am(big h*gs to Natte on her birthday....)
I'm pretty busy, and in a lot better mood than I was a few days ago. I have depositions in one case scheduled for Thursday and Friday, and an arbitration (an informal trial presided over by an experienced lawyer) next Tuesday. It's a relatively small-stakes personal injury case, good for me to cut my teeth on. I'd prefer more bankruptcy cases, but I'm alternately anxious and looking forward to it.
I'm getting two or three calls each week from people interested in filing for bankruptcy; the ones I got three weeks ago are close to being ready to file. They're about evenly divided between a lawyer referral service I've signed up with and my ads in the Portland Mercury (hipper alternative weekly, Dan Savage has his column there) and Just Out.
I'm also working on the lawsuit against the Portland Police described in the previous post, mostly formulating discovery requests for the lead attorneys.
