Problems at my old work...
Sep. 5th, 2002 03:54 pmI may have gotten out of my old job just in time. There have been a number of closed-door meetings and people leaving abruptly (5 in the past month, including 3 of 4 project managers) this summer. (My last days of steady work there were in June.)
I have no specific idea what the cause was, but I have a hunch it was the "shit flows downward" theory; i.e., the clients have been tight with their money, which means the bosses lean on the project managers for more production, which in turn leads to stressed workers and lower-quality work.
Thing is, I can't blame the bosses; when times were good, they treated everyone well. I think the economy may have taken its toll on everyone on down the line.
