My list of the 20 worst Americans: (If you're liberal or farther left, submit your 20 worst for a poll....)
Rupert Murdoch. Has given us The Simpsons, but at the cost of unleashing a torrent of trash (Fox News, New York Post, When Animals Attack) on
society.
Joseph Pulitzer. While Murdoch's empire can cheerlead a war, Pulitzer gets the blame for starting a war (The Spanish-American War)
Rush Limbaugh. Excrement In Broadcasting.
Roger Ailes. Bovine excrement, both as a media consultant and in charge of the most unbalanced, biased news source out there today.
Westbrook Pegler and Father Coughlin. Can't forget the predecessors of today's purveyors of trash opinion.
Nathan Bedford Forrest. Traitor, war criminal, racist, founder of the original KKK.
Robert E. Lee. Another traitor, whose military genius served evil. At least Rommel tried to assassinate Hitler...
Jefferson Davis.
John C. Calhoun. His defense of the continuation of slavery enslaved millions and eventually cost 600,000 lives.
Joseph McCarthy. A paranoid drunk who held the country hostage for several years and ruined many a person with unproven allegations.
Roy Cohn. McCarthy's Smithers, in more ways than one.
J. Edgar Hoover. America's Beria.
Henry Kissinger. International war criminal who so far hasn't been caught, except by Christopher Hitchens.
Robert McNamara. His hubris led to the quagmire of Vietnam.
Richard Nixon. Paranoia was this man's flaw.
Ronald Reagan. He's history's greatest monster.
Henry Clay Frick. This one's personal. He exploited my ancestors and had a group of them slaughtered by Pinkerton hired goons during the Homestead Massacre of 1892.
Anthony Comstock. His name lives in infamy as a censor, who succeeded in persecuting disseminators of birth control until the early 1970s.
Will Hays. His code for motion pictures set a clownish standard of prudery for American films until the late 1960s.
Harry Anslinger. Racist and grandfather of the War on Some Drugs. Responsible for diversion of valuable law enforcement resources to busting people like Jay and Silent Bob (as well as the *real* Tommy Chong), and also responsible for budget deficits in many states that would be greatly alleviated by legalizing and taxing marijuana sales.
