I've been reading some of the transcripts of Brownie's testimony today. I'm just floored by his accusations in this forum. He has far too much to answer for to be deflecting blame right now, much less arguing that he is qualified for the job. Let the other officials answer for their own errors, his are the most egregious. I couldn't believe the back and forth between him and the senator when he asked the senator what he would have had him done. Possible reply: "Your job?" It reminded me of those amazing clips of him saying he didn't know about the plight of the people in the Superdome. Deer in the headlights, okay maybe not that, I have sympathy for deer in headlights. I agree with you completely that anyone with a soul in his position would be fighting severe depression right now, not basking in righteous indignation.
Yes, Bush loves unthinking loyalty and not much else, and independent commissions like the one after 9/11 say all sorts of things he doesn't like and can't control. Sorry to rant in response, this one has me fuming.
