I'm not sure what Ben's deal was - he was just awkward.
He bounced on the balls of his feet when he walked, sort of like the way you tiptoe through a quiet house, but with goofy bouncy action. All the time.
His hands were never in his pockets or at his sides, either. They were always up against his chest. He had a tendency to steeple his fingers a lot, too.
His personal hygene was pretty terrible. I'd say his showers were weekly at best. Very oily skin, bad hair, never used a q-tip.
His voice cracked painfuly when he talked or laughed.
True story: while in Jr High, he woke up one morning after his dad went to work and found his mom collapsed on the living room floor. He assumed she was taking a nap and left for school. It turns out she had suffered a stroke and was left alone all day.
